Meet Chip
Chip is a capybara who loves bananas, adventures and his blue cap, which he never takes off. In every book he packs his bananas and heads somewhere new.
How every book works
Each Chip book is a coloring storybook for kids and grown-ups. One scene at a time:
- ReadOne line of the story sits under each picture, so little readers can follow along.
- ColorEvery scene is a full-page picture, drawn with bold, easy lines.
- LearnTurn the page for a real fun fact about the place Chip is visiting. There are 40 in each travel book.
- Find the bananaChip hides one little banana in every scene. (The one on his cap doesn't count.)
Chip's crew
Chip never travels alone, and he always comes home with more friends than he left with.
- NibChip's tiny white bird friend. She rides on his cap and goes everywhere with him.
- NandiA little African penguin from Cape Town. Chip helped look after her at a penguin hospital.
- ZolaA spotted hyena everyone warned Chip about. She turned out to be looking out for him all along.
- DashA dassie from the top of Table Mountain who loves to sunbathe.
- RollyA tiny dung beetle who rolls a ball bigger than himself.
Nandi, Zola, Dash and Rolly all joined Chip at the end of Chip Goes to South Africa. His house had to get a lot bigger.
Big hearts, real facts
Chip's stories are about being brave, making friends in new places and getting to know someone before you decide who they are. There's usually a little mystery, and the clues are hiding in the pictures.
Chip is make-believe. The facts are real. Kids learn why Table Mountain wears a "tablecloth," what "sawubona" means and how lions can nap for up to 20 hours a day, all while coloring.
